Responsibilities:

• Manufacture medical devices
• Select, inspect, test and process material
• Transfer and bottle patches in an ISO 6 clean room
• Sterilize Instruments, components, manufacturing material and clean room clothing
• Prepare chemicals for certain processes in production

Manufacturing:

• Clean laminar flow work stations, instruments and equipment
• Dilute chemicals as specified and recording data on control record
• 2ND clean, material selection by thickness and strength measurements and strength test calculations
• Cut patches according to the different sizes
• Clean work stations before and after operations
• Process patches as specified
• Perform transfers and bottling of patches in the clean room
• Leak test bottled patches after bottling
• Sterile filtrations (Propylene oxide, Propylene glycol, isopropyl alcohol and Water)
• Complete records (control records, traveller) as specified

Sterilization:

• Wash/clean all items prior to steam sterilization
• Package items as specified prior to sterilization
• Autoclaving of items to be sterilized
• Complete control records as required

Other requirements:

• Perform any other assignments as delegated by the Production Manager or Supervisors

Requirements:

• Matric certificate with passes in Mathematics, Chemistry, and/or Physical Science
• Tertiary qualification (Diploma or Degree) in a science-related field such as Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or Chemical Engineering
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing, laboratory, or clean room environment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise protocols and safety standards
• Comfortable working with chemicals and sterilization processes
• Reliable, responsible, and committed to maintaining high-quality standards
• Able to work in a clean room environment, including wearing appropriate protective gear
• Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team
• Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks such as cleaning, bottling, and equipment handling
