Job Description

A leading FMCG company is looking for an experienced Manufacturing Manager with extensive expertise in production management and operational excellence to join their team in La Mercy, KwaZulu-Natal.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering, maintenance, and quality management.
Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee daily production operations, ensuring targets for quality, efficiency, and safety are met.
Manage and develop a large production team, including managers, team leaders, and operators.
Implement operational improvements, line balancing, and scheduling to enhance throughput and minimize downtime.
Maintain compliance with quality, food safety, and environmental standards such as HACCP, ISO, and GMPs.
Oversee maintenance and reliability programs to ensure smooth operation of manufacturing equipment.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including QA, R&D, and supply chain to support product development and production planning.
Manage budgets, cost control, and financial performance for the production facility.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, Kaizen, and TPM projects.
Handle labour relations, union interactions, and team performance management.
Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in related field.
Minimum 10 years' experience in manufacturing operations, including managerial roles.
Strong leadership, people management, and team development skills.
Proven experience in production planning, quality control, and operational efficiency improvements.
Knowledge of maintenance management systems (CMMS), predictive maintenance, and capital project management.
Familiarity with food safety standards, regulatory compliance, and environmental health & safety practices.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and strategic planning abilities.
