Job Summary Role: Manager - Outbound and Logistics

Location: Durban KZN

Requirements:

A Bachelor Degree focused on Logistics, Materials and Supply Chain Management (B. Com); a post graduate qualification in Supply Chain and Logistics will be an advantage.

  • At least 5 - 10 years related work experience in a FMCG warehouse environment.
  • Demonstrate a history of working in the logistics and supply chain industry.
  • Skilled in negotiations (unionised environment), management and project management.
  • Experienced and skilled in Warehouse Management (WMS), SCALE/SAP systems and Project planning.
  • Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience with delivery route planning (Trackmatic/DPS/Pickup)
  • Strong operations professional focused on continuous improvement.
  • Must be organised, able to prioritise, work long hours and be able to work under pressure
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Management and Leadership:
  • Provide staff with clear direction in their jobs through individual / team objective setting.
  • Identify development needs of staff, plan for support ways to meet them.
  • Provide specific, constructive performance feedback to staff at regular intervals.
  • Recognise, appreciate and use unique talents of each person.
  • Acknowledge and reinforce positive results / behaviours of others at every opportunity.
  • Develop and/or participate in the development of the supply chain strategy for the organisation.
