To manage and direct Quality Assurance section of SAAT in order to minimise risk exposure (reputation, regulatory compliance, property loss, financial, etc.), ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and meet customer expectations.
Principal Accountabilities
To develop and manage the implementation of Quality Management System to ensure compliance with SAAT, Customers and aviation regulatory requirements.
Manage Quality Management System for SAAT, identify non compliances, suggest corrective actions to relevant managers in order to minimise aviation authorities' findings and threat to SAAT for retaining customers and aviation authority approvals.
Obtain and manage various AMO approvals held by SAAT to ensure a continual functioning of various departments, to support their growth and maintain the capability of the organisation.
Provide adequate liaison with National and International Regulatory, legislative bodies and Operators to ensure compliance with all regulations and standards.
Prepare, submit and negotiate exemptions, extensions and concessions with the NAA's to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Manage the auditing and approval of suppliers and service providers to SAAT to ensure usage of qualified sources and address any quality lapses.
Formulate procedures and policies to continually ensure adherence to requirements of aircraft and components manufactures, SAAT, customer requirements and aviation regulation.
Manage planning and conducting of external audits at SAAT (SACAA, EASA, FM etc.).
Prepare and submit responses to audit reports from Regulatory Authorities and Operators after external audit audits.
To manage and perform accident and incident investigations in order to prevent re-occurrence and ensure compliance with legislation.
Conduct investigations to determine the root cause of quality lapses and premature failures in the products of SAAT in order to provide meaningful evidence to defend or institute legal or disciplinary actions for/or against SAAT
Review and analyze trends from incidents and report back to customers as per contractual obligations and to prevent re-occurrence.
Compile reports for various regulatory bodies, customers and internal stakeholder to report back on findings and possible long and short term corrective action.
To manage the process of obtaining certification examination and licensing process to ensure adherence to aviation regulatory authorities competency assessment requirements.
Review SAAT employee's applications and schedule examination process in order to determine qualification for assessment and certification.
Analyse data to ensure accurate certification examination statistics are supplied in order to assist management to mentor candidates where required.
To develop and manage Internal issue of staff licenses to ensure compliance to regulatory requirements and air worthiness of aircraft and components.
Develop and manage the licensing system and processes in line with regulatory requirements.
Review, process and authorize licensing applications.
Monitor staff experience and competency assessments in line with regulatory requirements
To establish and manage the sections' budget in line with SAAT QA division's objectives.
Contribute to establishing the annual budget, plan and review the capital budget in line with SAAT Quality Assurance divisional strategy/objectives and produce reports to track expenditure as required.
Manage invoicing processes in order to ensure timeous and efficient generation of correct invoices and minimise cash flow issues.
To manage the section's human resources in line with SAAT's HR policies and procedures.
Recruit staff per the section's staffing demand
Maintain regular staff meetings and feedback sessions
Qualifications & Experience
Qualification
Relevant degree or equivalent plus 7 years experience in Engineering, preferably with quality and risk management.
Relevant diploma or N6, plus 9 years experience in Engineering, preferably with quality and risk management focus.
12 years experience with aircraft trade with 8 years experience and 4 years experience in quality assurance/auditor/controller or production leader.
Qualified in one of the aircraft aviation trades.
SACAA/EASA/FAA Regulatory training.
Quality Management System training .
