The Instructional Design Manager plays a vital role in Marriott's global training initiatives by crafting innovative, high-impact learning experiences that elevate associate skills and promote meaningful behavior change. This position requires close collaboration with subject matter experts and global stakeholders to design training solutions aligned with Marriott's standards, driving operational excellence and enhancing guest satisfaction.   • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of instructional design experience, with a proven record of creating learner-centered training solutions.
  • Proficiency in e-learning tools such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, and LMS integration.
Preferred
  • Advanced degree or certifications in instructional design, e-learning, or project management (e.g., PMP, CPTD).
  • Experience in hospitality or customer service-focused training.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply ADDIE, SAM, or similar instructional design models.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
  • Employ instructional design models such as ADDIE to ensure the comprehensive development of training programs, from initial needs analysis through to effective evaluation, promoting a structured, impactful learning experience.
  • Leverage industry-leading tools like Articulate Storyline to produce visually compelling and interactive content, designed to enhance skills development and drive operational excellence.
  • Research, test, and utilize digital assistive technologies like AI-powered tools to enhance the quality and efficiency of the learning design process.
  • Leverage microlearning, gamification, blended learning and other innovative learning design approaches that boost learner engagement, retention, and provide just-in-time knowledge that supports performance in real-time.
  • Incorporate agile principles into the instructional design process, promoting flexibility and iterative development to quickly respond to changes in project requirements and learner needs.
  • Design content that is inclusive and accessible to individuals with varying needs, ensuring compliance with accessibility guidelines and enhancing Marriott's commitment to diversity and inclusivity.
  • Partner with SMEs to translate complex, technical information into clear, actionable training content that aligns with Marriott's brand standards and meets the practical needs of diverse learner profiles.
  • Oversee the distribution of training materials via Marriott's LXP, ensuring seamless integration, compatibility, and the collection of data-driven insights to monitor learner progress and program effectiveness.
  • Successfully manage multiple training development initiatives, skillfully balancing resources, managing timelines, and meeting deadlines to support learning objectives across Marriott's global markets.
  • Adapt learning materials to be culturally relevant and meaningful across different regions, ensuring accessibility, inclusivity, and applicability for a diverse audience.
  • Utilize Kirkpatrick's Four Levels of Training Evaluation to measure program success, refine content, and continually enhance the quality and relevance of learning experiences.
  • Integrate learner feedback and insights from data analytics to continuously improve training quality, fostering an environment that values growth and innovation.
  • Ensure all training materials exemplify Marriott's values, culture, and operational excellence, reinforcing brand integrity and service expectations across all levels of learning.
