Requirements
- Minimum BTech degree in Electrical Engineering
/ B Eng coupled with registration as a Professional
Engineer/Technologist with ECSA
- Certificate of Competency issued by the Chief Inspector of
- 10 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in the medium/high voltage electrical
years should be in the distribution and transmission of electrical
engineering/power systems field
- Minimum of 5 years in a managerial position at senior level
- In depth knowledge of the operations, maintenance and
equipment, protection, telecoms as well as SCADA systems
and equipment and power systems
- Maintenance management of electricity networks
- Knowledge of applicable legislation, industry standards and
- Sound knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Computer literacy in MS Office Applications
- A valid Code B driverxe2x80x99s licence
- Identify and define the immediate, short and long term
Distribution/Transmission Networks, Protection, Telecoms and
SCADA infrastructure
- Direct and control the Key Performance Indicators and outcomes
- As appointed and accountable responsible persons in terms
OHS Act 16(2), implement procedures, systems and controls
to regulate specific work and associated sequences associated
with the operation, maintenance and repair functions of the
division
- As cost centre owner, prepare capital and operating estimates
