Job Summary Delivery of proactive end to end risk/controls assurance services for Absa Financial Services (AFS) Insurance Group, in line with the combined assurance agenda in the business and in line with the Absa Assurance standard. The role includes risk/issue prevention, risk/issue identification, risk/issue remediation & tracking and risk/issue escalation & reporting. Initial focus will be on document retention related assurance activities.



Accountability: Assurance Planning, Testing and Reporting

  • Supports the Assurance Manager with planning of assurance activities for 1LOD.
  • Assist the business 1LOD teams with coordination and pre-assurance preparation, issue validations and issue closure preparations
  • Execution of assurance plans; covering design and operating effectivess of controls.
  • Complete planned deep dives and other assurance activities, as requested by business or directed by line manager.
  • Support business management in the identification and effective management of risks to which the business may be exposed, ensuring that an effective control environment exists
  • Responsible for regular reporting on assurance activities, both periodic, but also for specific engagements.

Education and Experience (Required)
  • B Degree in Commerce, Risk Management or other risk focused subject matter.
  • Minimum 2 yrs. in Risk, Audit or Compliance experience.
  • Insurance and Investments experience essential.
  • Experience with Risk Framework elements especially Operational Risk management.
  • Experience in dealing with multiple senior stakeholders.

Education

Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
