Purpose of the Role:
This role will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of all
equipment related to the automotive paint line. The role requires adherence to company safety
standards, preventative maintenance schedules, and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical
faults to minimize downtime and optimize production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety & Compliance
Adhere to all occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations (ISO45001, ISO14001, IATF16949).
Implement and maintain company-specific safety protocols, ensuring compliance with 6NN safety requirements.
Identify and report potential hazards, take corrective action, and promote a safety-first culture.
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company and regulatory safety standards.
Preventative & Predictive Maintenance
Perform scheduled maintenance on paint line equipment, robotic systems, conveyor systems, and auxiliary equipment.
Conduct daily inspections, fill out required checklists, and document equipment conditions.
Implement energy-saving improvements and support continuous efficiency initiatives.
Participate in fixed asset inventory management and maintenance record-keeping.
Breakdown Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults in paint line equipment.
Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime and meet production targets.
Analyze root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain and update troubleshooting logs and failure reports.
Equipment & Process Management
Ensure the proper functioning of digital control systems, robotic arms, sprayers, ovens, conveyors, and PLC-controlled machines.
Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reliability, and quality.
Work closely with engineering teams to update standardized work instructions and operating procedures.
Collaborate with the production team to adjust and optimize processes as needed.
Spare Parts & Inventory Management
Monitor and manage the inventory of spare parts to ensure critical components are available when needed.
Record spare parts usage and coordinate with procurement for stock replenishment.
Ensure cost-effective maintenance practices without compromising quality and safety.
Training & Knowledge Sharing
Participate in internal and external training programs to enhance skills in maintenance and process optimization.
Lead and mentor junior technicians, sharing best practices in troubleshooting and maintenance.
Maintain documentation on lessons learned (OPL, BBP) and suggest improvements for process standardization.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Trade-tested Millwright, Electrician or Mechanical
Proven experience as a maintenance technician on a paint line/ area - compulsory
Ability and willingness to work shift
Techncial Skills
Strong knowledge of robotic painting systems, spray booths, ovens, conveyors, and PLC- controlled equipment.
Experience with ISO quality standards.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Familiarity with predictive maintenance tools and energy-saving initiatives.
Additional Requirements:
Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and standby when required.
Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
