We are looking for someone who is a hands-on problem solver who enjoys keeping things running smoothly, this could be the perfect fit for you join our Operations team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. Your role will include general maintenance tasks such as plumbing, painting, repairs, and moving equipment. We're looking for someone reliable, self-driven, and safety conscious.

We're a fully in-office team. This role is based at our Support Centre in Kuils River, Cape Town.
What you'll do:

• Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards
• Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels etc.)
• Assist in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary
• Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
• Inspect alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs when needed
• Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.)
• Undertake activities of pest control such as spraying insecticide

What We're Looking For:
Knowledge & Expertise:

• Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
• Health and Safety principles

Skills & Competencies:

• Written and verbal communication skills
• Problem solving
• Organizing and planning
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Proven experience as a maintenance technician
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems
• Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime

Preferred:

• Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology or relevant field will be an advantage
