Position: Maintenance Manager - 5 Star Villa, Eastern Cape

Job Summary: As a Maintenance Manager for our 5-star villa in the Eastern Cape, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of property maintenance. Your role will involve ensuring the seamless functioning of facilities, managing a team of maintenance staff, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Property Maintenance:

  • Supervise and conduct regular inspections of the villa's facilities, identifying maintenance needs and coordinating repairs.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance programs for equipment, systems, and structures.
Team Leadership:
  • Lead and manage a team of maintenance staff, providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Schedule and delegate tasks effectively, ensuring optimal productivity.
Vendor Management:
  • Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance services.
  • Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effectiveness.
Health and Safety Compliance:
  • Implement and enforce health and safety protocols to ensure a secure environment for guests and staff.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and address any issues promptly.
Budget Management:
  • Develop and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.
  • Monitor expenses, analyze variances, and recommend cost-saving measures.
Emergency Response:
  • Establish and implement emergency response procedures, ensuring the availability of necessary resources and staff training.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance emergencies and provide effective solutions.
Environmental Sustainability:
  • Implement and promote sustainable practices in maintenance operations to minimize the environmental impact.
  • Explore energy-efficient solutions and technologies.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Manager in a luxury hospitality setting, preferably with 5-star villa experience.
  • Technical expertise in various aspects of property maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general repairs.
  • Leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of local regulations and safety standards.
