Job Description

Ba-Phalaborwa Golf Course & Spa is looking for a skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee the upkeep and smooth operation of all buildings, facilities, and equipment at the Club. The successful candidate will ensure that the property remains safe, functional, and well-presented, supporting both operational efficiency and an excellent member experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee routine and preventative maintenance across all club facilities, including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, HVAC, and general repairs. Manage and maintain clubhouse systems such as water pumps, geysers, air conditioning, and lighting. Supervise and assist with the maintenance of vehicles and small machinery, supporting the greenkeeping team where required. Ensure compliance with all occupational health and safety regulations, including PPE usage and safe working practices. Maintain and repair infrastructure such as paths, fencing, parking areas, signage, and storage facilities. Plan, coordinate, and monitor landscaping and cleaning duties to ensure high presentation standards. Keep accurate maintenance records, manage budgets, and control costs effectively. Support emergency response procedures and provide technical guidance to staff.

Requirements:

Grade 12 certificate; technical or trade certification (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, mechanical) advantageous. Minimum 2-3 years' experience in maintenance or handyman roles, ideally within hospitality, golf clubs, or leisure facilities. Knowledge of South African Occupational Health and Safety Act and safe working procedures. Valid Driver's License. Practical knowledge of building maintenance, HVAC, small engine repairs, and basic security systems. Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills. Ability to manage maintenance budgets and preventive maintenance schedules effectively.
