Job Description

To develop & apply the in-house preventive & responsive maintenance services applied to both plant/utilities & premises, ensuring functionality& availability of these as well as cost/benefit.

To continuously monitor plant, machinery & functional aspects of utilities/premises as per layout depiction, & supporting details on plant/facilities, & actual state of repair assessments on the floor & inform maintenance planning to increasingly ensure & leverage preventive & planned rather than reactive unplanned maintenance, & keep records/data updated for analysis & retrieval.

To further high-quality standards in maintenance work, also by external parties, further sound use & treatment of machinery, & take up & leverage findings with responsible parties to implement.

Key Duties:

Preventive Maintenance Plan/Programme Effectiveness



o Implement the preventive and responsive maintenance programme (P&RMP) with planned external maintenance components, internal preventive maintenance on key plant and utilities and translate into annual, quarterly, monthly, weekly and daily requirements, increasingly leveraging towards planned maintenance.

Machinery/Plant Maintenance Support Services (Production Machinery & Equipment)



o Implement checks and inspections of plant & machinery checking its functional state, and performing the required cycles of preventive maintenance tasks in complementation of supplier major maintenance tasks. Ensure the institutionalisation of know-how, manage maintenance service providers against service level agreements (SLAs), enforcing its clauses to ensure sustainability-oriented maintenance practices.

Support Utilities Maintenance Support Services (Freezers/Fridges, Solar/Power, etc.)



o Implement checks and inspections of support utilities checking its functional state, and performing the required cycles of preventive maintenance tasks in complementation of supplier major maintenance tasks. Ensure as far as possible Pie in the Sky institutionalisation of know-how, manage maintenance service providers against service level agreements (SLAs), enforcing its clauses to ensure sustainability-oriented maintenance practices.

Premises Maintenance & Change Support Services



o Develop a pre-screening rating mechanism that operators/supervisor can go through in case if failure, as well as a priority rating scale (3 points - extreme, high, med), to potentially remedy and gauge the emergency. Respond urgently to high priority repairs, and plan lower priority ones were possible. Ensure expediency, that may require initial fixing with delayed real repair to enable production continuity.

Emergency Repair Services



o Implement a layout plan, identify the maintaining points in premises, priorities and planned replacement/ checking times, minimising unplanned repair. Deal with all repair, replacement and basic construction type work and ensure all is done to standards. Evaluate bigger jobs for outsourcing, liaise with owner and manage delivery to standards.

Operational Maintenance Service Provider Effectiveness as per SLAs



o Engage service providers in planned maintenance and support requirements. Inform SLAs to be established with such service providers, and evaluate them against the stated and agreed criteria. Check the work and ensure that it is done to standards, only pass work for payment that meets standards.

New Plant (Machinery & Support Utilities) Integration Support Services



o Liaise with TO and external providers of plant early in the acquisition consideration process, making recommendations as to maintenance and integration of new plant considerations. Ensure that new plant is well supported by layout/ components, and guidelines how to dissemble and resemble, and learn maintenance requirements, and onboard

Plant Change/Realignment Support Services (Projects)



o Operationally plan, organise and coordinate the technical enabling aspects of production plant and process changes, in optimal time, and without unplanned delays. Apply project management principles and organise and coordinate external inputs/services, liaising with production. and ensure smooth transitioning.

First Line/Plant/Machinery Care Training & Coaching Services



o To inform training modules and programmes on first-line maintenance and machinery care, use of facilities and premises, targeting induction, development and best practice entrenchment. Coach staff on the floor against training material, reminding and enforcing. Observe practices throughout, guide staff and also complementing efforts to entrench care in use of machinery, equipment and facilities)

Maintenance Administration Integrity (incl. Reporting & Analysis)



o To agree on data capturing, records, processing and reporting requirements, in order to ensure a comprehensive, accurate data base enabling tracking/tracing, analyses and planning, relating to all the plant/ machinery/utilities and premises data, tracking and reporting requirements, and supporting layout plans.

Minimum Requirements:

Should ideally have at least 3 years formal training (Fitter & Turner, Electrician) e.g. Trade Test Certificate or National Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or similar

Linked with at least 6 years maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment with an emphasis on production plant.
