About the Position:

As a Maintenance Manager at our East London Industrial Plant, you will be responsible for coordinating maintenance planning and execution. Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our facility.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance and repair work on all machinery and equipment.
  • Ensure strict adherence to OHS Act rules and regulations.
  • Develop and execute maintenance schedules in line with the annual plan.
  • Manage inventory and procurement of spares and materials.
  • Assign and supervise work to team members, ensuring quality and standards are met.
  • Handle administrative tasks for the department and ensure accurate and timely submissions.
  • Implement a safety loss control program to comply with company safety policies and legislation.
  • Assist in planning and scheduling the annual shutdown maintenance program.
  • Cultivate a productive and harmonious working environment.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings, including utility usage.
  • Maximize machinery availability and investigate causes of downtime.
  • Stay updated on industry developments through supplier communication.
Your Qualifications:
  • Matric and trade test certificates in millwright, fitter and turner, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of post-apprenticeship experience in a manufacturing environment (experience in a petrochemical environment is a plus).
  • At least 5 years of experience in a maintenance supervisory, foreman, superintendent, or managerial role in a similar environment.
  • Proven track record in project planning and execution within allocated timelines and budgets.
  • Strong leadership, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills.
