Skeerpoort & or Zeerust Area xe2x80x93 North West: Our client is looking for an Department Head xe2x80x93 Maintenance Manager to join the team.Only candidates with the relevant experience will be considered.POSITION INFO:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• Mechanical/ Maintenance/Electrical & or Boilermaker qualification
• Agricultural Diploma/Degree specialising in poultry & poultry production, advantageous
• Minimum of 5 previous yearsxe2x80x99 experience in the poultry industry
• Proven experience in maintaining the following:
• General maintenance
• Electrical
• Welding
• Pumps
• Servicing of vehicles
• Extensive repair and maintenance knowledge of farm equipment, irrigation pumps, irrigation systems, and building maintenance essential
• Computer literate
• Ability to work in a team
• Valid driversxe2x80x99 license

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Have working knowledge of and comply with all production procedures and audit requirements (for instance HCCP, Veterinary requirements, Woolworths Code of Conduct, SAPA production standards, farm procedures).
• Have working knowledge of and comply with all

management matters relating to the operationxe2x80x99s policies framework

• Health and Safety (Supporting, PPE, Meetings and Files)
• Employee relations
• Staffing support (Planning, Selection and Placement)
• Career Management (Induction, Administration, Compensation Management, Supporting Skills Development and Employment Equity)
• Production and performance Management
• All operations in the section (Business processes, production, productivity, information management, business intelligence system, maintenance of the farms and houses within strategic, compliance, PPP`s, standards and best practice framework.
• Communicate with other Managers as required.
• Administration for section.
• Cost Management.
• Budgeting.
• Optimize communications in section by using Communication systems.
• Quality Management per QMS requirements.
• Productivity Management by adhering to all required standards and good practices as set down in Policies, procedures and practices by Management, consultants and Contractors. Populating the Business Intelligence System. (Including Reporting).
• Facilitate and manage professional team access and use of contractors

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Organizing and coordinating daily duties in terms of maintenance.
• Guiding Assistant Maintenance manager and supervisors to see to their daily duties
• Identify maintenance needs and assisting with maintenance
• Controlling, supervising and planning house preparation and cleaning
• Crisis Management Ensure that all portable electrical equipment is safe as per daily duty (e.g. Grinder, Drilling Machine, Electrical Extensions.)
• Ensure weekly and daily checklist is completed (e.g. Fire alarms, Standby Generators, Motor and Gearbox, Fan Checklist Rearing and Free Range)
• Ensure that all monthly checklist is complete (e.g Testing of earthlike, testing of overloads in all operational sections.)
• Ensure that preventive Maintenance is complete on a monthly basis.
• Take stock of all equipment and consumables and keep records.
• See that all equipment, machinery and systems are in good working condition.
• Ensure that all the employees are doing their work as per the Company policies and Procedures.
• See that the houses get thoroughly prepared before housing.
• Must relieve the Electrical on weekends and leave periods.
• Keep maintenance list of all motors and generators on the farm up to date.
• All maintenance and repairs within your scope to be done in newly built houses or current houses.
• Building of new chicken houses and installation and commissioning of all new equipment into houses.
