Who You Are

• You have ability to ensure the efficient planning, scheduling and execution of maintenance activities for plant infrastructure & equipment.
• You are able to have identify high equipment integrity to sustain high productivity levels & minimize production disruption so as to maximize production performance and effectiveness including equipment reliability & availability through planned preventive maintenance systems and to ensure a safe plant operation through effective planning and scheduling of statutory maintenance activities
  

What You Have Done Before

Baseline:

• NQF Level 7 (Degree in Mechanical /Electrical Engineering)
• Government Certificate of Competency
• 5 yearsxe2x80x99 experience in maintenance management
• Experience in People Management
• Knowledge of plant maintenance and equipment
• SAP/ Primavera P6/ Maintenance Management System
• Financial Acumen and Budget Control

Advantageous:

• Experience in Lubricants Manufacturing or in FMCG (plant maintenance)
• Project Management experience
• Knowledge of PLCs & Process Control systems and reliability processes

What You Will Be Doing

MANAGING MAINTENANCE PLANNING & SCHEDULING PROCESS

• Spares, tools, and materials availability for planned maintenance activities
• Review and manage SAP Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedule
• Plan and manage maintenance department budget
• Plan and manage the scheduled outsourced construction work including all shutdown activities
• Compile scope of work for external contracts
• Plan and monitor progress on capex work
• Prepare monthly maintenance KPI's

MAINTENANCE SUPPORT & PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

• Provide support to the Engineering, Maintenance & Technical Staff
• Ensure that all maintenance activities are supported (including assisting & allocating resources for breakdown and planned activities to ensure quality workmanship on all maintenance work)
• Manage, coach, and develop a high performing Maintenance team that meets agreed objectives, and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements
• Set department objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports
• Report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required
• Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviors expected of them
• Ensure the delivery of the People Strategy within area of accountability
• Manage and lead the team, ensuring adequate staffing levels
• Motivate and coach the team to operational success

BUSINESS SUPPORT

• Manage critical spares
• Statutory and normal maintenance
• Manage SAP PM cycle from start to end
• Monitor the completion of tasks and ensure good performance and record on appropriate systems
• Review, implement, and update company records e.g., training matrices, performance reviews, risk assessments
• Communicate KPIs from the strategic annual plan so that each employee is aware

BUDGET CONTROL

• Input and hold responsibility for maintenance budgets
• Prepare the annual Maintenance budget and forecasts
• Manage Capital Expenditure proposals as well as ensuring compliance with legal standards.
• Manage the budget from identification to completion of projects

MAINTAIN FACILITY WORK PROCESS LEADER

• Process owner, responsible for process implementation, use and enhancement of the process, defines skills necessary for the work process, tracks and analyzes work process results.
• Leverages the Maintain Facility and Sub-Processes across multiple operating units
• Accountable for compliance and implementation of the work process
• Ensures that empowered teams apply the work process
• Encourages use of Management of Change for value added improvements
