Job Description

We are currently seeking a qualified Maintenance Manager. The primary mission of this role is to ensure the optimal performance and minimal downtime of all machinery, allowing the plant to operate at maximum capacity. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, experience in managing people and systems, and the ability to plan effectively.

Purpose
The Maintenance Manager will play a critical role in ensuring machine availability and maintaining machinery and infrastructure in optimal condition while managing costs effectively. The successful incumbent will be responsible for leading a team, collaborating with the production department, and implementing a system-based approach to enhance maintenance processes.

Experience

• 10+ years in the manufacturing industry (primarily from automation plants, steel industry, tyre, or rubber industry). Experience in Boiler, Hydraulics, Compressor, and Diesel generators maintenance is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of maintenance personnel, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental targets.
• Implement and drive a system-based approach to maintenance within the department, utilising best practices and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Oversee spare parts management, ensuring adequate inventory levels and optimising procurement processes.
• Ensure machine availability exceeds 99.7%, maintaining uptime within approved budget constraints.
• Collaborate closely with the production team to minimise downtime and enhance overall operational efficiency.
• Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimise unplanned downtime and extend machinery lifespan.
• Monitor and manage the maintenance budget, making cost-effective decisions while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Coordinate and oversee maintenance projects, ensuring they are executed on time and within budget.
• Foster a culture of safety, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations and guidelines.

Mandatory Education:

• B-Tech in Mechanical Engineering or similar

Required Certification:

• Valid GCC (Government Competency Certificate)
