Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe CICS Specialist to provide expert-level support and consultation on IBM Mainframe CICS environments. The role will focus on the design, maintenance, and enhancement of CICS systems, aligning technical operations with business requirements, and supporting day-to-day activities in collaboration with the customer's Mainframe team.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert recommendations on Mainframe CICS and contribute to solution architecture design efforts.
Collaborate with the customer's team to produce Mainframe CICS roadmaps that align with strategic IT goals.
Consult on aligning CICS technical activities with the customer's evolving business requirements.
Offer guidance on best practices for Disaster Recovery planning and reporting for CICS environments.
Support ongoing operations and maintenance of the CICS platform to ensure system stability and availability.
Engage with IBM and the customer on Preventive Service Planning (PSP) maintenance and support calls.
Scope of Services:
Deliver hands-on support for day-to-day Mainframe CICS operations and maintenance.
Contribute to the development and enhancement of standards, procedures, and methodologies supporting IT service delivery.
Assist in performance monitoring, tuning, and issue resolution of the CICS environment.
Provide consulting services during standard office hours, five (5) days per week.
After-hours support is excluded and will be offered upon prior written approval and billed separately via signed timesheets.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience:
Proven experience working in IBM Mainframe environments with a specialization in CICS (Customer Information Control System).
Strong knowledge of CICS architecture, configuration, transaction management, and performance tuning.
Experience with Disaster Recovery planning and execution for Mainframe environments.
Familiarity with PSP maintenance, IBM support collaboration, and issue escalation procedures.
Excellent communication and analytical skills; ability to interface with technical and business stakeholders.
Preferred Certifications (advantageous):
IBM Certified System Programmer - CICS
ITIL Foundation
Relevant IBM z/OS or Mainframe certifications
