Job Title: Paver Operator

Location: Verulam

Employment Type: Full-Time

We are seeking a suitable and qualified candidate for the role of Paver Operator in the construction Industry

Key Responsibilities:

Operate paver and heavy equipment:

Safely and efficiently operate asphalt or concrete paver machines, and sometimes other heavy equipment.

Lay and finish surfaces:

Spread and level paving materials like asphalt to project specifications, ensuring a smooth and consistent finished surface.

Adjust machine settings:

Use controls to adjust the screed, hopper, and speed to match the job requirements for width, depth, and material consistency.

Prepare job site:

Prepare the substrate and load-bearing layers, read blueprints, and set curbs and edges to the correct line and level.

Handle material:

Direct trucks delivering asphalt to the paver and manage the flow of material into the machine.

Perform repairs:

Make repairs and perform maintenance on paved surfaces as needed.
Qualifications and experience

Technical Skills:

Key technical abilities include: Knowledge of various paving materials and techniques. Familiarity with the maintenance and safe operation of heavy machinery. Ability to read and interpret project requirements and job instructions.

Soft Skills:

Strong focus on safety and quality assurance. Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Matric/NQF Level 4 certificate or a relevant technical qualification, along with practical experience.
