Role Overview
The Livestock Production Manager will oversee the entire piggery operation (1,000 sows), ensuring optimal breeding, farrowing, weaning, and growing processes. The role requires strong technical knowledge of pig husbandry, staff management, and strict biosecurity control.
Responsibilities
Manage daily piggery operations across breeding, farrowing, and growing units. Supervise and train supervisors, technicians, and general piggery staff. Ensure animal welfare, health monitoring, and veterinary compliance. Maintain production records and performance data. Implement biosecurity protocols and health & safety standards.
Qualifications
Degree/Diploma in Animal Science, Agriculture, or related field. 5+ years' experience in piggery/livestock management. Strong leadership and organizational skills. Knowledge of AI (artificial insemination) and genetic programs.
