RESPONSIBILITIES



Ensure plant compliance and governance of Food Safety & Quality systems



Oversee housekeeping matters within the plant and notify the cleaning team for prompt resolution when needed.



Ensure good housekeeping principles are maintained.



Perform daily plant inspections to verify cleanliness and compliance with food safety and quality standards.



Maintain and enhance the culture of behaviour-based ownership of Food Safety



Monitor and facilitate continuous improvement on the Food Safety Management System (FSMS).



Conduct forklift verification of inspection records and alert management of discrepancies



Conduct Internal Pest Management responsibilities for the plant



Manage the food safety system, AIB & FSSC 22000.



Enforce all food safety requirements at all times and ensure that staff adheres to all Food Safety Policies and Prerequisite Programs (PRPs).



Enforce change initiatives and controls with in preparation for Food Safety Audits or addressing of findings.



Conduct inspections of the grounds and facilities to ensure adherence to the health, safety, food andenvironmental standards



Close off NCRs timeously.



Ensure sound maintenance of Food safety OHS records of all machines in plant.



Ensure all registers and checklists are updated.



Ensure accurate completion and proper filing of food safety and quality documentation for traceability and auditrequirements.



Ensure plant compliance to Environment, Health and Safety regulations



Ensure that all Health & Safety representatives conduct monthly inspections of their work area.



Ensure compliance with all SHE policies and procedures



Compile risk assessments periodically in line with prevailing policies.



Conduct regular Fire Prevention inspections.



Ensure all safety signs and notices are prominently displayed in all areas.



Check if machinery is in good working order and initiate maintenance where applicable in accordance to



Occupational Health and Safety requirements (OHS).



Enforce all Health and Safety requirements at all times Staff and ensure that staff adheres to Environment, Health



and SafetyPolicies and PRP's.



Maintain plant emergency evacuation plans.



Maintain the accident and incident investigation programme.



Compile monthly OHS reports.



Submit and close enablon findings.



Carry out job observations on high-risk activities and provide feedback.



Chair quarterly safety meetings with the safety reps, Line Managers



Conduct toolbox talks



Production supervision and Plant Maintenance:



Plan, schedule, assign, inspect, record and administrate production operations



Ensure the management of the Critical Control Points (CCPs) and or Operational Prerequisite Programs(OPRP's), report any failures and take necessary corrective action in consultation with Production Manager



Generate work orders and issue work permits



Direct and coordinate staff in fault finding and maintenance where necessary.



Data capturing:

Update downtime and OEE reports daily.



Coordinate preventative maintenance of packing line in order to improve OEE



Ensure production and cost efficiency and that products meet agreed specifications



Address any queries, problems and anomalies and proactively respond to changing conditions and requirements.



Reconcile critical spares to prevent unplanned downtime.



Create MDG codes for production items.



Ensure that all suppliers and external consultants/contractor adhere to all Group Policies and Procedures



Inspect and verify operator maintenance records.



Inform and update Management on compliance levels of each packing line.



Employee Supervision & Contractor Coordination



Ensure compliance with prevailing policies and procedures



Ensure all legal appointments are fulfilling their duties.



Coordinate all Food safety and Health & Safety training of employees.



Correct and update timesheets.



Identify and resolve problems timeously, and escalate challenges where applicable.



Resolve conflicting issues or requirements, and escalate where applicable.



Counsel team members and initiate disciplinary action to address employee misconduct or poor performancewhere applicable.



REQUIREMENTS



QUALIFICATIONS



Diploma in Food Technology or Industrial Engineering



EXPERIENCE



3years'post qualification production experience, of which 2 should be in a supervisory capacity



Experience in food manufacturing industry



Working experience in internal and external audits i.e.Food Safety, EHS, Quality
