Position Summary:
The Line Cook is responsible for preparing, cooking, and plating food items according to restaurant standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work quickly and efficiently, and a commitment to maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare ingredients and set up workstations for the shift
Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
Follow recipes, portion guidelines, and presentation standards
Ensure food quality, taste, and consistency
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen
Properly store food items following safety guidelines
Handle and maintain kitchen equipment
Assist with inventory control and stock rotation
Follow all health and safety regulations
Communicate effectively with the kitchen team and front-of-house staff
Preferred Requirements
Proven cooking experience in a restaurant or commercial kitchen
Knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety standards, and kitchen equipment
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong time-management and multitasking skills
Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 20kg
Comfort working in high-heat and fast-paced environments
