Job Description



1. Conceptualizing and conducting research

.


This would include administrative duties such as handling all related paperwork for ethics approvals and student registrations, as well as the ordering and management of items and equipment needed in the laboratory.


The incumbent will also continue to source funding for the research.

2. Developing and maintaining postgraduate student Honours MSC and PhD by coursework programme.




This would include the development, registration and maintaining an Honours, MSc and PhD within the Department of Internal Medicine

3.

Collaborations and Initiatives.




The incumbent will be responsible for forming collaborations with the Universities of Pretoria, Limpopo and Sefako Makgatho as well as the Tswane University of Technology.


This will include gaining access to patient cohorts, students and senior researchers within the above mentioned sites to enhance the clinical relevance of Wits research focus.


Additionally, he/she will collaborating with the University of Johannesburg's Engineering Department to incorporate machine learning into our research methodologies, aiming to leverage advanced computational techniques for better data analysis and predictive modelling.



Qualifications Required



1.

Post-doctoral 5 years post PHD qualifications


2. Experience with post graduate course curriculum development and structural design


3. Must have completed or is currently completing post graduate diploma in Health Science Education
