Deliver engaging teaching in medical sciences at undergraduate and postgraduate level
Contribute to curriculum development and implementation
Participate in student assessment and academic support
Develop and pursue an independent research program
Supervise postgraduate students
Engage in scholarly activities, research projects and research publications, with an undertaking of a higher degree in the field of Anatomical Pathology (including computational studies, laboratory studies, cancer research in pre-clinical and clinical fields)
Contribute to departmental meetings and various departmental academic and administrative activities and take on academic citizenship activities within the department and the University.
Seek research funding opportunities and collaborations
Experience and Skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively in an academic setting
Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice
Familiarity with contemporary teaching methods
Potential to secure research funding
Evidence of research potential through publications and/or conference presentations
Essential Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Medicine (MBBCh) and completion of internship and community service.
Registration with professional council
- Previous teaching experience - a minimum of a year of teaching experience (tutoring or teaching assistance is acceptable) is required.
Advantages:
Research experience and student supervision.
Successful completion of additional degrees and/or a postgraduate qualification in Health Sciences Education would be an advantage.
