Head: AcademicVega School is an educational brand of The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE). The IIE enjoys the reputation of being at the forefront of private higher education in South Africa and is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) to provide higher education qualifications accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE).The IIE Vega, Durban Campus has a vacancy for a Part-Time Lecturer in Experience Design Technology for the second semester of the 2025 academic year.Competencies Required:

• Excellent communication (written and verbal)

• Demonstrated ability to manage work and self proactively
• Organisational and time management skills

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

• Ideal - BIS Hons or Masters in Multimedia, BA Hons or Masters in Digital Design, Game Design or Digital Arts with knowledge of designing for Mixed Reality
• Alternatively - BA Hons or Masters in a cognate field with knowledge and experience of designing for Mixed Reality

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:At least 3 years industry experience in digital design or game design, including using industry standard platforms and technology to create mixed reality simulations.Working Conditions:

• Please note that this is an Independent Contractor (part-time) role

Working Hours:

• Lectures take place Monday to Friday: 08:00 -17: 30 - specific days and times depend on the timetable for the specific module(s)

Salary:

• Hourly rate commensurate with experience and hours worked.
