Head: AcademicVega School is an educational brand of The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE). The IIE enjoys the reputation of being at the forefront of private higher education in South Africa and is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) to provide higher education qualifications accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE).The IIE Vega, Durban Campus has a vacancy for a Part-Time Lecturer in Experience Design for the second semester of the 2025 academic year.Competencies Required:

• Excellent communication (written and verbal)

• Demonstrated ability to manage work and self proactively
• Organisational and time management skills

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

• Ideal - Honours or Master's Degree in Digital Design, Multimedia Design or Interaction Design.
• Alternatively:

Undergraduate qualification in a relevant design field, and an NQF 8 or higher qualification in Higher Education.ORHonours or Master's Degree in Information Design or Digital Arts with at least 3 years' experience as a UX designer.Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

• At least 2 years industry experience as a digital, UX or Interaction Designer. A solid foundation in web design, and UX design is key. The candidate is required to have a layered portfolio demonstrating her/his ability to engage with intermediate design challenges and his/her experience and knowledge of the skills listed above.

Working Conditions:

• Please note that this is an Independent Contractor (part-time) role

Working Hours:

• Lectures take place Monday to Friday: 08:00 -17: 30 - specific days and times depend on the timetable for the specific module(s)

Salary:

• Hourly rate commensurate with experience and hours worked.
