The IIE enjoys the reputation of being at the forefront of private higher education in South Africa and is registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) to provide higher education qualifications accredited by the Council on Higher Education (CHE).The IIE Varsity College , Westville Campus has a vacancy for a Lecturer within the School of Education for the below modules:

• TIP Social Sciences 3B (TISS7412)

Competencies required:

• Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent Presentation Skills
• Assertiveness and dynamism
• Understanding of customer service in education
• Demonstrate an ability to manage work and self proactively

Minimum Education Requirements:

• B.Ed. Honours degree, or
• Postgraduate Diploma in Education (NQF Level 8), or
• Honours degree in Humanities, Arts, or Social Sciences

Additional Requirements:

• The undergraduate or postgraduate qualification must include a module in Teaching and Learning or Pedagogy.
• The qualification must also include Social Sciences or related subjects (e.g., History, Geography) up to at least NQF Level 6 (typically the second year of study).

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

• School-based experience in Social Sciences (or component subjects - e.g. History and Geography) is required.
• Ideally, lecturing experience at tertiary level.

Working Conditions:

• Please note that this is a Part-time role with lectures taking place between 08:00 and 17:00.

• Preference will be given to South African Citizens and Permanent Residents of South Africa in possession of proof of permanent resident status.
