Job Description


Our client in the Pharmaceutical industry is currently looking for a Learning & Experience Design Lead, in Midrand, Johannesburg.Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Learning Deployment:
  • Lead the design and delivery of an integrated learning experience strategy aligned to the organisations strategic objectives and talent strategy.
  • Create differentiated learning pathways for various personas (e.g., frontline, managers, executives) to drive growth, inclusion, and career mobility.
  • Apply adult learning, behavioural science, and design thinking principles to create meaningful and scalable learning interventions.
  • Partner with business and various project teams to conduct Learning Needs Analyses to identify impacted roles and capability requirements.
  • Design and execute the learning deployment plan using blended methodologies (digital, face-to-face, coaching).
  • Develop and deliver training content, toolkits, assessments, and learning experiences.
  • Track individual and cohort-level completion, engagement, and application of learning.
  • Partner with the L&D team, People Managers, OD, SBP, and Culture & Change teams to embed learning into day-to-day performance and shift behaviours aligned to new programs.
  • Learning Platform & Onboarding Transformation:
  • Assess, identify and leverage learning technologies (LMS/LXP, mobile learning, AI-based tools) to optimise learner engagement, content accessibility, and measurement.
  • Lead or collaborate on the implementation and enhancement of digital learning platforms to enable self-directed and data-driven learning.
  • Lead the rollout of a re-imagined onboarding journey aligned to the companys new purpose, culture and EVP.
  • Integrate content across platforms and ensure consistent employee experience from entry to culture activation.
  • Design differentiated onboarding experiences for different employee segments (frontline, support, management).
  • People & Culture Learning Enablement:
  • Design and implement learning solutions that support People & Culture priorities (e.g. loyalty program, onboarding, culture initiatives, leadership etc)
  • Translate enterprise transformation goals into capability-building roadmaps.
  • Contributes to the change enablement strategy, ensuring learning supports mindset and behaviour shifts.
  • Monitor adoption and effectiveness of learning through metrics, feedback loops, and stakeholder input.
  • Learning Measurement, Analytics & ROI:
  • Use data analytics to continuously improve learner experience and learning effectiveness.
  • Provide regular insights and dashboards to key stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain a Learning Metrics Dashboard on applicable platform to track engagement.
  • Define and monitor return on learning investment by partnering with:
  • L&D (for curriculum outcomes and alignment)
  • OD & SBP (for performance and capability evaluation)
  • Culture & Change (to correlate learning to behaviour and mindset shift)
  • Produce periodic impact reports for People & Culture leadership showing how learning supports transformation goals.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Learning & Development, Digital Education, Industrial Psychology, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a learning and development role, with at least 2 years in a transformation or strategic initiative environment.
  • Preferred certifications: Instructional Design (e.g., ATD, CIPD), Learning Experience Platforms, learning Analytics or ROI Methodology, Project Management
  • Proven track record in designing enterprise-level learning experiences across diverse formats and audiences.
  • Strong understanding of digital learning trends, platforms (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors, Degreed, Coursera, Moodle), and instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM, Agile).

Remuneration:
  • R 800 000 R 1,2 Mil per annum.
