About the Role

The Lead Systems Analyst will analyse complex data, design analytical solutions, and guide cross-functional teams to support data-driven decision making. The role combines systems analysis, data modelling, development support, and project coordination.

Minimum RequirementsQualifications

Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering or related field. Relevant industry certifications are an advantage.

Experience

Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills. Experience with data manipulation, visualisation, and statistical libraries (e.g., Python/Pandas or R). Hands-on experience with machine learning models and statistical techniques. Exposure to business analysis on multiple projects. Project management experience (Agile exposure is beneficial). Utility industry experience is a plus but not required.

Key ResponsibilitiesAnalysis & Solution Design

Conduct problem analysis and requirements gathering. Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) and develop insights. Build or support statistical models and machine learning algorithms. Validate models using hypothesis testing and performance metrics. Create functional specifications and Entity-Relationship (ER) diagrams. Work with business analysts, UI analysts, and domain experts to refine requirements.

Development Support

Use Python or R to build analytical tools, scripts, and data pipelines. Support integration of analytical models into production systems. Ensure scalability, accuracy, and reliability of data solutions.

Project Management & Collaboration

Work closely with business, IT, and development teams. Provide timelines, estimates, and input during project planning. Maintain a collaborative, communicative work environment.

Quality Assurance

Perform unit, integration, and validation testing for models and solutions. Collaborate with QA teams to develop and automate testing processes.

Continuous Improvement & Documentation

Identify opportunities to improve processes and system functionality. Keep updated with new tools and technologies. Maintain clear documentation for models, algorithms, and system designs.

Core Competencies

Strong analytical and problem-solving ability. Technical expertise in data and modelling tools. Creativity and innovation in solution design. Ability to work with complex requirements and switch between high-level and detailed views. Good time-management and stress-management skills. Adherence to quality and risk management standards.

Technical Skills
