Job Summary:
The Kitchen Pass Controller acts as the vital link between the kitchen and the front-of-house team, ensuring that food is accurately prepared, correctly plated, and delivered to customers promptly. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12.
• Previous experience in a similar role or in the hospitality industry.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
• Good knowledge of food presentation and service timing.
• Attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
• Physically fit and able to stand for long hours.
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Coordinate and manage the food pass between the kitchen and service staff.
• Check food quality, presentation, and order accuracy before handing over to waitstaff.
• Ensure food leaves the kitchen in a timely manner and at the correct temperature.
• Communicate clearly with chefs and servers to manage flow during service.
• Prioritize and organize orders during busy periods to maintain efficient service.
• Monitor preparation times and provide feedback to the kitchen if delays occur.
• Ensure cleanliness and organization of the pass area at all times.
• Report any inconsistencies, delays, or problems to the Head Chef or Manager.
• Assist with plating or garnishing dishes if required.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and safety in the pass area.
