Responsible For
  • Manage kitchen staff and coordinate food orders
  • Supervising food prep and cooking
  • Checking food plating and temperature
  • Establish portion sizes
  • Schedule kitchen staff shifts
  • Planning and organizing of large functions and executing them successfully
  • Weekly stocktake as well as stock management and ordering
  • Controlling of waste and practice FIFO principal in order to control all stock and food items
  • Order food supplies and kitchen equipment, as needed
  • Design menus and weekly specials for a high paced upmarket restaurant including buffet, a la carte, call order as well as canape and snack items for upmarket clients and functions
  • Computer literate on excel and word as well as CANVA.
  • Train kitchen staff on prep work and food plating techniques
  • Store food products in compliance with safety practices (e.g. in refrigerators)
  • Proven work experience as a Kitchen Manager or Head Chef
  • Maintain safety standards in the kitchen area
  • Able to work long hours and every Friday & Saturday
