A leading, fast-paced, busy restaurant group in Sea Point, Cape Town is seeking an experienced Kitchen Manager to oversee back-of-house operations. Description
The Kitchen Manager will be responsible for daily kitchen operations, staff supervision, food safety compliance, and stock management. The successful candidate will ensure all food preparation and presentation standards meet company expectations while maintaining cost control and team efficiency in a high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage kitchen, bakery, and storeroom operations.
- Enforce HACCP and food safety standards.
- Maintain inventory, monitor wastage, and track supplier deliveries.
- Lead, train, and develop the back-of-house team.
- Support menu planning and operational execution.
- Ensure cleanliness and equipment maintenance standards are met.
Minimum Requirements
- 3-5 years' experience in a similar kitchen management or senior BOH role.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficient in food cost management and stock control.
- Solid understanding of health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Able to perform under pressure in a busy restaurant setting.
