POSITION OVERVIEW

Based at our Johannesburg Branch, in oder to further strengthen our NCP Yeast business unit that supplies Cream Yeast (liquid yeast) to industrial clients across multiple provinces in South Africa , we are currently seeking a:

JUNIOR YEAST PLANT TECHNICIAN -

( Johannesburg, South Africa )

Reporting directly to the

Technical Manager

, the successful candidate for this key function will be responsible for:
Developing, building and maintaining the customers' facilities that store and manage the liquid yeast Highly focused on customer service, technology and innovation.

KEY ACCOUNTABLES

Maintain & develop customer relationship. Highly organized and detail oriented Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to work and thrive under time constraints and juggle/prioritize responsibilities Must be able to read and interpret control system software. Knowledge on Rockwell Automation, Phoenix Contact and Unitronics is preferred. Any knowledge of PLC software programming is beneficial. Required to read as-built drawings, blueprints, maintenance logs, and electrical drawings. Must have a general knowledge of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting / repair. Ability to perform maintenance and repair of production line equipment. Versed in lock-out/tag-out procedures and possess a strong safety orientation mindset with demonstrated performance. Overtime hours may be required based on work demand. Candidate must be flexible with these hours. The candidate will be required to travel and be away from home as part of the normal duties The candidate will be required to work standby. The candidate must physically fit as the job may require occasionally lift and/or move heavy objects

PROFILE

High School diploma. Trade Qualification essential - preferably Millwright Valid driver's licence is a requirement. Minimum of 2-3 years of manufacturing, facility, or industrial experience preferred, preferably in food manufacturing environment. Ability to demonstrate fundamental computer skills - Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, PowerPoint, Exce, Word).
Must have good command of the English language, both written and verbal
