About our client..
An award-winning, mid-sized content agency working primarily in the sports space is looking for a Junior Social Media Manager to join their team. Their work straddles the line between ad agency and production house, with a focus on both long-form and short-form content. You'll be immersed in a collaborative, fast-paced environment surrounded by people who live and breathe sport.
What the job involves..
Publishing daily content across multiple social media platforms
Writing engaging, on-brand captions and call-to-actions
Crafting briefs for visual content (thumbnails, graphics, video assets)
Adapting copy for different platforms and audiences
Researching and implementing trending topics and hashtags
Monitoring and responding to comments, messages, and mentions
Engaging in real-time with fans during live events and breaking news
Tracking performance metrics and compiling weekly/monthly reports
Maintaining content calendars and coordinating with the content team
Supporting live event coverage and influencer coordination
What you need to be considered..
1-3 years experience in social media management (sports or entertainment preferred)
A genuine love and deep knowledge of sport -- this is non-negotiable
Excellent written communication and copywriting skills
Understanding of SEO principles and platform algorithms
Familiarity with tools like Hootsuite, Buffer, or similar
Basic design and content creation skills
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and live events
Bonus points if you..
Can write a witty caption faster than most people can think of one
Know the difference between Instagram Stories and Reels optimisation
Are excited about live-tweeting sporting moments
Are a natural community builder and love engaging with fans online
Understand the emotional connection fans have with their teams
