Job Description

  • To render research in a team context or individually under guidance
  • Effective handling of personnel regarding utilization, training and evaluation as well as maintaining good working relations within the team.
  • To successfully market and promote the institute's services/products to relevant role-players.
  • Good planning and management of research activities. Aspects such as effective use of facilities and resources, problem solving and liaisons with experts - Continuous
  • Proper management of budget in compliance with financial policies/procedures always to ensure that the budget is managed in a cost effective and pro-active manner -- Continuous.
  • To ensure successful completion of research projects /programmes in compliance with set standards.
  • To comply with the Occupational Health and Safety regulations/ procedures.
  • Involvement in the activities of the institute such as research committee and section meetings, and seminars.
  • MSc in Agricultural Engineering or equivalent with emphasis on Agricultural Mechanization.
  • Registration as Profession Engineer with ECSA will be an added advantage.
  • Communication and planning skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Valid driver's licence (code 08/EB).
