Junior Network Engineer x1 -



Junior Network Engineer -

Job Responsibilities: -

Handles alations from General Support requiring further Data specific technical assistance



Proficient with technical escalations from clients, wholesalers, interconnect partners, internal teams and service providers.



Ensures a work ticket is opened on the internal logging system if not already open for escalation from Resellers / customers



Applies/uses diagnostic techniques and tools to identify problems, investigate causes and recommend/implement solutions to correct common failures



Arranges for on-site technical assistance to be provided where necessary by generating a request to the Centracom Technicians Department



Supports Centracom technicians with specific technical assistance, addressing Data issues



Escalates more complex problems to a higher level of expertise within the organisation



Engages with upstream service providers as part of the issue resolution process



Ensures feedback is given to the customer/wholesaler within an appropriate timeframe



Assists with departmental special projects



Actions ad-hoc requests delegated to him/her by their Senior



Perform Basic Network Troubleshooting



Support Network Installation and Configuration



Ensure Network Security Practices



Provide User Support for Network Connectivity



Learn and Apply New Networking Technologies



Collaborate with the Voice Team for quicker resolutions to certain voice/link related issues

Basic Networking Concepts



Switching and Routing



Network Troubleshooting



Firewall and Security Basics



Wireless Networking



Basic knowledge of Mikrotiks and Cisco Technologies



Basic knowledge of tunnelling methods



Basic Network devices configuration

Immediate Start

Qualifications/Competencies/Work Experience:-



N + or A + technical certification.

VoIP and/or Networking certifications will be beneficial..

Mikrotik (Router OS) experience.

Networking experience.

PC competent with Word and Excel.

Minimum 1- 2 years' experience in a technical role preferably in a Telecoms environment.

Experience on an IT Help/Service Desk, beneficial

Good problem-solving skills.

Customer-centric.

Ability to provide technical support telephonically.

Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative under pressure.

Ability to exercise patience and to actively listen.

Good communication skills for both verbal and written forms of communication.
