Job Description

My client, a leader in the mining manufacturing industry is looking for a Mechanical Engineer, must be dynamic, go getter with ambition to grow within the company. Must come from the mining industry and have experience in designing of mining components such as buckets, bins, chutes and conveyors.

Main job function

• Develops mechanical products by studying customer requirements; researching, testing, manufacturing and assembly methods and materials; and soliciting observations from operators.
• Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.
• Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and system capabilities; and confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
• Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests.
• Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
• Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturers instructions and established procedures; and requesting special services.
• Maintains system and product data base by writing computer programs and entering data.
• Completes projects by training and guiding technicians.
• Designing conveyor structures, mining components (stringers, rollers, bases, etc.), detailed drawings for manufacturing 2D & 3D, working hand in hand with Sales Department and manufacturing of components on the workshop floor, site visits to measure and design new components for mine, drawing conveyors.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering.
• 2-5years experience (mining and design)
• Knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and other mechanical engineering concepts.
• Excellent math skills, including advanced geometry, calculus and physics.
• Familiarity with CAD and other mechanical design software
