Job Description

Job Purpose:

To support the optimization of manufacturing processes, improve productivity, and ensure efficient use of resources in sheet metal and railway component production. The Junior Industrial Engineer will assist in data analysis, workflow design, and continuous improvement initiatives under the guidance of senior engineering staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Process Improvement:

Assist in analyzing production workflows and identifying bottlenecks. Support implementation of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles. Participate in time and motion studies to improve efficiency.

Production Support:

Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot process issues. Help develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions. Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).

Layout & Planning:

Contribute to facility layout planning for optimal material flow. Assist in planning workstation ergonomics and safety improvements.

Data Analysis:

Collect and analyze production data to support decision-making. Use tools like Excel, Power BI, or ERP systems to generate reports.

Project Assistance:

Support senior engineers in project planning and execution. Participate in cost reduction and quality improvement projects.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field. 0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment (internships or graduate programs are acceptable). Exposure to sheet metal fabrication or railway manufacturing is a plus. Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and ERP systems.

Skills & Competencies:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good communication and teamwork abilities. Eagerness to learn and grow within a technical environment. Basic understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, and industrial engineering principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools.
