Do you have a passion for keeping kitchens safe and food perfectly handled? Olives & Plates is looking for a Junior Health & Safety Officer to support our Senior HSE Officer with strong Food Safety expertise to ensure our guests and team enjoy the highest standards of hygiene and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement and monitor Health & Safety and Food Safety policies and procedures.
Conduct regular HACCP-based audits, risk assessments and staff training.
Maintain accurate records for inspections, temperature logs and incident reports.
Drive a culture of safety across all restaurant operations, from kitchen to front-of-house.
Liaise with local authorities to ensure full legal compliance.
Requirements
Minimum Qualification: NQF Level 4 (Grade 12/Matric or equivalent).
Food Safety/HACCP certification (essential).
At least 3 years' experience in a restaurant, hospitality or food-production environment.
Solid knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and food hygiene regulations.
Excellent communication, training and reporting skills.
