Job Description

Wood is currently recruiting for Junior HSES Safety Officers for a 12 month contract based at our Client's office and site in Limpopo and Pretoria.


Junior HSES Officer - Stofberg


Functions - All monthly audits, site inspections, weekly monthly reports. General HSE activities - SACPCMP certification




Junior HSES Officer - based in Pretoria until construction starts


Functions - Assist with compiling Wood and Client SHE File and HSE documents. Site visits, including site establishment audit for WBHO. Will assist with supplier audits in accordance with IFC standard. (International Standards imposed by Banks). Weekly and monthly reports on behalf of the client. SHE file approvals in line with Anglo SIB projects - SACPCMP certification



Provide the leadership and support necessary to contribute towards efficient Health, Safety, Environmental and Security (HSSE) management. The main aims being to create secure, safe and healthy working conditions throughout the site and protect the environment during site establishment, construction, commissioning operations and demobilization of construction site and lay down areas. Be aware of and communicate to all site personnel the contents of the HSSE Procedures and ensure that the associated HSSE plans are understood and implemented. Ensure that the company and Client safe working procedures and safe working practices are fully understood and that such procedures and practices are being effectively applied. Provide HSSE training to the site personnel in line with the HSSE induction booklet. Ensure that the Resident Site Manager is kept up to date on HSSE performance and assist him in HSSE reviews. Assist the Resident Site Manager and the HOD Field Engineer in carrying out the Task Risk Assessment process. That all work is performed by suitably trained and competent persons. That statutory appointments have been completed and all statutory requirements are met. That where required, health and safety committees are established, that meetings are accordingly held and that the minutes of such meetings are kept and properly filed. That all personal are aware of the hazards attached to the work carried out and are fully conversant with the precautionary measures to be taken or observed to obviate such dangers

Qualifications:



NEBOSH - General International Certificate SAMTRAC HIRA ASHEPP First Aid level 1 Incident Investigation

Knowledge, skills and experience:



Candidate should have at least a minimum of Two (2) years Construction/Occupational safety experience. Must have been exposed to the level of a managing contractor.

Registered CHSO with SACPCMP
