Job Description



We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to support our HR operations within a fast-paced industrial laundry environment. The successful candidate will assist with the full range of HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, payroll coordination, wellness initiatives, and compliance. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong organisational ability, and a hands-on approach to supporting both management and employees on-site.

Key Responsibilities



HR Administration & Recordkeeping

Maintain and update employee records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policy and labour legislation. Handle daily HR administrative duties, including filing, correspondence, and preparation of HR reports. Process new hires, terminations, and changes in employment status, ensuring all documentation is complete and legally compliant. UIF & IOD administration. Ensure personnel files, contracts, and attendance registers are up to date and securely stored.
Recruitment, Onboarding & Induction

Assist in the recruitment process, including job posting, shortlisting, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks. Prepare employment contracts and onboarding documentation for new employees. Facilitate employee inductions and assist with orientation to ensure smooth integration into the company.
Payroll & Timekeeping

Assisting the Payroll Department to ensure all input (attendance, overtime, leave, and allowances) is captured accurately and on time. Process leave and ensure correct application of company leave policies.
Employee Relations & Compliance

Provide first-line advice to employees and supervisors on HR policies, procedures, and workplace conduct. Assist in disciplinary and grievance processes, ensuring compliance with the Labour Relations Act (LRA) and company procedures. Support line managers in maintaining fair and consistent employee relations practices. Assist withCCMA matters and documentation.
Training & Development

Support the coordination of training and development programmes in line with Skills Development requirements. Maintain accurate training records and assist with arranging internal and external training sessions. Assist with performance appraisal administration and recordkeeping.
Health, Safety & Employee Wellbeing

Assist with health and safety documentation and communication between HR and departments. Support initiatives related to employee well-being, recognition, and morale-building. Coordinate staff engagement activities, long-service awards, and wellness days.
Please note that additional tasks may be assigned as operational requirements evolve.

Skills Required

National Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management or Industrial Relations (essential). No HR experience is required, however relevant experience will be advantageous. Good understanding of South African labour legislation, including the LRA, BCEA, EEA, and Skills Development Act. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent attention to detail, and the ability to prioritise in a high-volume environment. Reliable, approachable, and solutions-driven. Strong administrative and organisational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information. Ability to handle pressure and meet deadlines in a production-driven setting.
