SGS Matrolab is seeking to fulfil a key role to service the KZN/ Eastern Cape Civil Engineering Laboratories. The role requires the incumbent to implement, maintain and further develop a Health & Safety management system that integrates all MAT/MAC site and commercial laboratories as per the industry as well as the Global SGS requirements. The role will require planning and achieving objectives and monthly report writing & submission.

The ideal candidate for this position will be a person that is disciplined and treat colleagues and management with respect, deadline & revenue driven and possessing enough energy and passion to maintain good staff relationships. A successful career in delivering performance against agreed strategic objectives and ultimately ensuring that all quality and testing methods are observed, and any deviation is reported without delay.

• Report to Regional Manager and with a dotted line to the Contracts Manager and the OI Officer.
• To ensure that company and group policies are implemented in the business, working and objectives are achieved.
• Streamline and optimize the existing OI systems and integrate branches and sites that are not included.
• Ensure that the company's Health & Safety (OI) management Programme is implemented and maintained within the assigned regions.
• Actively participate /adopt/follow-up on Health & Safety (OI) Improvement Projects/Programmes.
• Perform Internal on site and virtual Audits, communicate and ensure corrective actions are taken where necessary within the I&E division.
• Ensure toolbox talks, internal and external training is done as per group expectations.
• Communicate any concerns and reports without delay the relevant Business and Regional Operations Manager Managers.
• Recording, investigating, tracking, and registering of IOD's as and when required.
• Ensure compliance with company/Group Safety Policy and local legislation concerning health and safety.
• Perform any other reasonable tasks as assigned by direct line manager.
• Adhere to all safety requirements of the SGS management system.
• Operate to the highest standards of ethics, in accordance with the SGS Statement of Integrity Lead, coach and develop a business-oriented team.
• Submit all required reports to the relevant managers as and when required.
• Key Result Areas
• Establish, implement and maintain SHE management systems.
• Supervise and Reduce claims and complaints (external & internal)
• Communicate and work in conjunction with the I&E OI Officer to ensure all KPI's communicated by Central OI is met within deadlines.
• Must be willing and able to travel extensively throughout the region and sleep out as and when required, in line with company policies & procedures.
• Must be willing and able to transport equipment to and from site during site visits.
• Must be willing and able to assist other regions with similiar tasks as and when required.

Qualifications

• Grade 12
• Driver License
• Must have completed at least one qualification in line with the job role.
• Microsoft software experience
• Document and report writing experience will be an advantage
• Environmental experience will be an advantage.
