Eilandia Farms, a progressive agricultural enterprise with diverse crop operations including table grapes, is seeking to appoint a Junior Farm Manager to support and assume increasing responsibility for day-to-day production activities within its table grape units.

The successful job incumbent will report to the Senior Production Manager and work closely with specialist consultants. This role is ideally suited to a developing production professional who is eager to grow into a senior production or farm management role through hands-on exposure, structured mentorship and experience within a commercial farming operation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will be involved in the planning, coordination and execution of table grape production activities, including:

Assist with and progressively take responsibility for soil preparation, planting, nutrition and fertilisation programmes in line with consultant recommendations Support and implement irrigation and water management practices, including scheduling, monitoring of soil moisture data, and basic system oversight Assist with pest and disease monitoring, trap counts, record-keeping and the execution of spray programmes in accordance with export and ethical trade standards Support canopy management, pruning, training and seasonal vineyard practices to optimise yield and quality Assist with harvest planning and coordination, including labour allocation, quality control, logistics and timing Supervise and guide permanent, contract and seasonal workers, ensuring productivity, quality standards and safe work practices Support basic human resource administration, including attendance monitoring, leave coordination and on-the-job skills development Assist with occupational health, safety and security compliance Support infrastructure and irrigation maintenance in collaboration with workshop and technical teams Maintain accurate production, irrigation, spray and fertilisation records, and provide input into daily and weekly operational reporting Work closely with senior management, consultants and external service providers to ensure aligned production execution

REQUIREMENTS:

Grade 12 (Matric) A tertiary qualification in Agriculture, Viticulture or a related field will be advantageous 2-4 years' practical experience in table grape production Sound understanding of basic viticultural practices, irrigation principles and pest & disease control Exposure to supervising farm workers or team leaders Good planning, organisational and record-keeping skills Computer literacy (MS Office and basic production record systems) Proficient in Afrikaans and English Valid driver's licence Fully mobile and psychically fit Willingness to work extended hours during peak and harvest periods
