Job Description
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma in Agriculture
- Minimum of 3 years relevant Dairy experience
- Dedicated
- Passion for dairy farming
- Hard worker
- Observant and detail orientated
- Ability to train others
- Sound Attitude
Milking
- Maintaining system and functionality of the milking procedure.
- Make decisions and minor changes
- Ensuring cow fertility, conducting AI and vet run
- Monitoring and management of pastures and irrigation and sharing feedback where required
- Management of calf rearing in its entirety as well as calving
- Oversee general staff and assist in staff training.
- Delegate and motivate staff
- Staff will indirectly report to this role
- Use of computer programs, data capturing and implementation of SOPs
- Autonomy to make more decisions
- Responsible for running milking over weekends in dairy
