Charles Hope operates premium serviced apartments with an on-site restaurant, offering guests a high-quality stay and dining experience. We focus on excellent service, smooth operations, and a welcoming atmosphere across the hotel and restaurant. As a Junior Duty Manager, you will support the operation heavily on the restaurant floor, while also assisting with hotel front-of-house tasks when required.
ROLE OVERVIEW
This role requires an experienced hospitality professional comfortable working across both restaurant service and hotel guest services, with a strong focus on restaurant operations. You'll help manage daily service, support the FOH and F&B teams, and ensure standards are kept during all shifts. You must be fully available for rotating shifts, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and public holidays.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Restaurant & F&B Focus
Actively support restaurant floor operations during service.
Assist with hosting, seating, and guest flow management.
Support waitstaff and supervisors during busy periods.
Help ensure smooth communication between kitchen and FOH
Handle basic guest concerns and escalate larger issues to senior managers.
Monitor restaurant cleanliness, presentation, and table readiness.
Assist with stock checks for F&B items, cutlery, glassware, and supplies.
Hotel & Front of House
Assist with hotel guest check-ins, check-outs, and general queries.
Provide professional and friendly service to guests staying in the apartments.
Support housekeeping and maintenance by reporting issues, room readiness, and guest requests.
Carry out basic room checks when needed.
Assist with stock checks for Hotel items and supplies
Operational Support
Help coordinate shift tasks and ensure communication between departments.
Support cash-up procedures and simple end-of-shift reporting.
Maintain high standards across public areas, including reception and restaurant entrance.
Follow all safety, security, and operational guidelines.
Step in to support operations when senior managers are off-site, ensuring consistent service.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Strong restaurant or F&B experience (hotel experience is a bonus).
Confident on the restaurant floor during busy service periods.
Excellent communication and guest-service skills.
Reliable, organised, and able to work under pressure.
Flexible and fully willing to work rotating shifts (early/late/weekends/holidays).
A hands-on team player with a proactive attitude and good work ethic.
