Job Description


An opportunity exists in the Governance department of Mazars; an international mid-tier professional services firm, based at Mazars House in Johannesburg, To play an instrumental role in supporting the Governance Unit, with a key focus on the implementation of Governance projects and leading the development of governance methodology and research
Duties and Responsibilities

Key duties and responsibilities:

Individual Outputs xe2x80x93 Implementation and Project Management

  • Assisting with Governance projects, including the development and writing of Governance reports for clients
  • Prepare and participate in project meetings with clients. Present findings to clients
  • Prepare project plans.
  • Ensure quality service delivery to clients.
  • Ensure client compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure that all client deliverables and correspondence are saved in client files and on server.
  • Provide day-to-day project management to project team.
Individual Outputs - Innovation And Research
  • Perform research on governance-related matters
  • Present best practice governance to team members
  • Lead the team on innovation and methodology for projects in the field of governance
  • Keep team informed on the regulatory environment
  • Write articles on relevant governance related matters
Business Development
  • Be pro-active in seeking new opportunities.
  • Support proposal writing and proposals input for the Governance team.
  • Engagement with potential clients
  • Organization of networking events
Client Outputs
  • Foster, build and maintain professional relationships with external clients.
  • Build long-term relationships with client.
  • Participate in networking opportunities with potential and existing clients.
  • Client satisfaction with implementation of projects
Minimum Requirements

Candidate requirements:
  • 1-2 years Governance experience
  • Previous consulting experience would be advantageous.
  • Exposure to research and writing would be advantageous.
  • BCom degree in Company Secretarial and Governance Practice and skills MS Office
  • Sound knowledge of Governance policies
  • Understanding and knowledge of laws relating to good governance e.g. King IV; PFMA, Companies Act
  • Ability to administer surveys.
  • Report writing skills.
  • Excellent command of the English language
  • Attention to detail.
