Job Description

Location: Durban Remuneration: Market related HLR Reference #: HLR7942 Environment: Skilled CISSP / CEH / CISM Certified IT Security Engineer required to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities that could be a potential threat to our client Purpose of the role:

• Ensuring security and operational integrity of systems and data

• Monitor and respond to security incidents and enforce compliance of industry standards.

• Implement and maintain robust security measures.

• Develop and implement security policies, procedures, and standards.

• Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and mitigate security risks.

• Perform regular security audits.

• Provide guidance and support to development and operations teams on secure coding practices, system hardening, and configuration management.

• Stay up to date with the latest security threats, vulnerabilities, and industry trends,

• Develop and maintain incident response plans.

• Participate in security incident investigations, root cause analysis, and remediation efforts.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

• • Relevant 3 years IT degree or diploma
  • Relevant certifications either CISSP, CISM or CEH
  • 5 years working within an Information Technology environment with a minimum of 3 in IT security
  • Strong knowledge of security principles, best practices, and industry standards such as NIST, ISO 27001
  • Familiarity with security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint protection, and network monitoring tools.
  • Experience with security assessment tools and techniques, such as vulnerability scanners and penetration testing frameworks.
  • Proficient in scripting and automation such as Python or PowerShell for security-related tasks.

• Understanding of cloud security concepts and experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Microsoft 365
