Job Description

IT Operations & Applications Support required in Centurion, on a hybrid working model (3 days in office) for a 12-month contract within the telecommunications industry. This role is required to provide support and control of Information Technology Operations on a 24/7 basis. The role involves managing the support of resources and functions for business solutions/applications, including strategy, business development support, quality of service, and operations in accordance with agreed service level agreements. The specialist will also maintain developed business solutions, provide support for projects, and offer technical expertise for system change requests, installation, testing, tuning, optimization, and maintenance of systems software.Responsibilities:

• Provide 24/7 support and control of IT Operations.
• Manage support of resources and functions for business solutions/applications.
• Maintain developed business solutions and support small to large projects.
• Provide technical expertise for system change requests, installation, testing, tuning, optimisation, and maintenance of systems software.
• Implement and manage application monitoring using monitoring tools.
• Manage vendor and software licenses.
• Manage systems and applications risk.
• Engage with stakeholders (Telkom business units, vendors) for production support, first-line support, and training requirements.
• Maintain formal solution training material.
• Provide formal solution training.
• Provide informal and over-the-shoulder training to business end-users.
• Assist Business with issues raised by business end-users.
• Maintain system business parameters and solution configuration.
• Manage access, workgroup definition, and role allocation.

Requirements:

• Business/IT degree or Diploma.
• Competencies in Business Plan; Management Policy; Financial Management; Business Acumen; Project Management; IT Strategy.
• First-line application support.
• Troubleshooting skills.
• Customer focus.
