As an IR Officer, you will play a vital role in developing and maintaining a high-performance, responsive, and flexible workforce through the application of sound HR and employee relations principles.

  • Labor Law / Law Degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of Labor Relations experience, including exposure to CCMA, arbitrations, unions, etc.
  • Proficient in labor legislation and bargaining councils.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Advanced MS Office proficiency.
  • Attributes: Adaptability, attention to detail, conflict resolution, strategic thinking, and more.
Industrial Relations:
  • Oversee disciplinary proceedings, appeals, grievances, and CCMA cases.
  • Provide guidance on disciplinary processes and procedures to employees and management.
  • Attend CCMA for conciliation and arbitration when necessary.
  • Collaborate with unions, manage documentation for arbitration, and maintain constructive relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with collective agreements and labor legislation.
  • Conduct investigations for formal disciplinary procedures and facilitate hearings.

Client Satisfaction:
  • Build transparent and open working relationships with internal staff to minimize risk to the distribution center.

Finance:
  • Regulate and control CCMA cases to minimize costs.

Strategic Consulting:
  • Stay updated on legislative changes to keep management and clients informed.
  • Implement labor relations initiatives within the company and with clients.
  • Provide strategic guidance on labor relations matters to minimize risk.
  • Design and execute action plans for various labor relations scenarios.

Administration and Reporting:
  • Manage regional legal correspondence and ensure timely action.
  • Compile documentation related to labor matters.
  • Maintain an effective process for organizing and communicating labor relations documentation.
  • Consolidate and analyze regional IR statistics, training reports, and more.
  • Generate monthly IR reports and training tracker reports for submission.
