Investor Engagement Intern

to join our team, focusing on the

Africa's Green Economy Summit

- a prestigious event bringing together leading investors, government leaders, and innovators to drive sustainable growth in Africa.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with global investors, connecting them to exciting green projects across Africa. The ideal candidate will help strengthen relationships with confirmed investors to attend, projects owners to pitch, and build a diverse investment ecosystem, and play an integral role in organising and executing the summit's investor-related activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Investor Targeting, Tracking, and Communication:

o Contact the confirmed investors to profile themselves.

o Send the project pitch booklet to confirmed investors to gauge interest.

o Build and manage relationships with existing investors attending the Summit.

Investor Directory Creation:

o Develop and maintain our first

investor directory

, compiling relevant contact and profile information.

Pitch Booklet Maintenance:

o Assist in updating the

2025 project pitch booklet

, showcasing green projects

o Follow up with newly confirmed projects with regards to the information required to populate the projects pitch booklet.

Project and Investor Matching:

o Facilitate introductions between investors and project owners at the summit, helping to match potential investors with high-quality projects.

o Participate in bi-monthly calls with our Transaction Advisory Partner and give feedback when required.

o Follow up with the project owners to submit their pitch decks on time, liaising with them on feedback given by the team / ad board.

o Assist in managing one of the event's

project pitch stages

where projects will present directly to investors.

Mentorship programme:

o Support in organising the online group mentorship / coaching sessions.

Investor Strategy Development:

o Contribute ideas and strategies to enhance the

investor engagement plan

, ensuring the Summit attracts top-tier investors and projects.

o Participate in meetings with investment projects, providing feedback on pitch decks and advising on engagement strategies with investors.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

Communication and Relationship-Building Skills:

o Confident in engaging and building long-term relationships with investors, project owners, and stakeholders.

Organisational and Research Skills:

o Strong attention to detail with an ability to manage databases, track engagement, and follow up with multiple parties.

Knowledge of Finance and Investment Ecosystem:

o Familiarity with different types of investors and funding mechanisms (DFIs, pension funds, VCs, etc.) is an advantage.

Presentation and Event Management Skills:

o Able to assist in managing investor-related sessions and pitch stages at the Summit.

Writing and Copywriting:

o Strong writing skills to craft investor communications and promotional content.

Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint):

o Capable of managing data and creating reports.

Preferred Qualifications:

Enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree programme from an accredited institution Background in business, finance, sustainability, or event management. Previous experience with investor relations, fundraising, or working with green projects is a plus. Passion for Africa's green economy and sustainability efforts.

Pay: R7999,00 - R8000,00 per month
