The successful candidate should have a vibrant, dynamic personality, bring warmth and excitement to the classroom and have a love for seeing children thrive in all aspects of school life.
The following competencies are essential in the candidate we seek:
Excellent administrative, organisational and time-management skills
Strong English Home Language verbal and written communication skills to effectively liaise with children, teachers, parents and visitors
A strong understanding of curriculum requirements of the Intermediate Phase across multiple subject and grade areas and in particular English as a home language
An innovative approach to teaching the 21st Century Child, including the use of IT in the classroom
Self-motivated, energetic and reliable
Work as part of a team with other staff and management
A strong understanding of the diverse nature of the pupil's within your care
Capable of coaching a wide variety of sports and to be actively involved in the extra-curricular program of the school - experience and knowledge in coaching boys' sport will be advantageous
A minimum of 3 years' experience in the same/a similar type of position and environment
Fully support the ethos and values of the school which includes respect, integrity, compassion and honesty.
A teaching qualification with SACE registration or a recognised degree/diploma appropriate to the position.
Starting Date: 1 July 2025 (or agreeable date thereafter)

Duties and Responsibilities
Preparation
Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activites that facilitate active learning experiences
Develop schems of work and lesson plans - termly, yearly and weekly
Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
Prepare classroom for class activities
Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities
Identify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet students varying needs
Delivery
Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment
Use relevant technology to support instruction
Assessment
Observe and evaluate students performance and development
Assign and grade class work, homework, tests and assigments
Provide appropriate feedback on work
Encourage and monitor the progress on individual students
Administration
Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development
Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws and school regulations
Prepare required reports on students and activities
Participate in department and school meetings, parent meetings
Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs
Discipline
Manage student behaviour in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures
Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school
Apply appropriate disciplinary measures where necessary
Extra curriculur
Participate in extra curricular activities such as social activities, sporting activities, clubs and student organisations
